This privacy policy describes how Cube Sudoku (“the app”) handles information. The app is published by Dream Factory (Patrick Schibli), Uster, Switzerland.

Cube Sudoku is an offline 3D Sudoku game. It contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking for advertising or measurement. You can play without creating an account.
1. What the app stores on your device
The app keeps gameplay data locally so you can continue where you left off:
- the current free-play and Daily Cube sessions (board, notes, undo history, timer)
- statistics such as solved puzzles, best times, streaks, mistakes, and hints used
- settings and tutorial progress
- a local record of whether you have used the free puzzle quota
This data stays on the device unless one of the optional services below is enabled. Deleting the app removes the local data.
2. Optional iCloud (CloudKit)
If you are signed in to iCloud on the device, the app may copy your solve history into a private CloudKit zone named CubeSudokuSolveHistory in the container iCloud.app.dream-factory.cubesudoku.
That history includes puzzle identity, difficulty, duration, mistakes, hints, date, and — for the Daily Cube — the challenge identity. It is used only to restore statistics after reinstall or on another device signed in with the same Apple ID.
- The local device remains authoritative if iCloud is unavailable.
- The data is stored in your private CloudKit database, not in a public database.
- You can stop this by signing out of iCloud or disabling iCloud for the app in system settings.
The app does not read your contacts, photos, or other iCloud content.
3. Optional Game Center
Game Center is optional. The app works fully if you decline sign-in or have no network.
If you sign in, Apple may process your Game Center identifier and alias so the app can:
- submit scores for solved Daily Cubes to their matching Easy, Medium, or Hard leaderboards
- unlock achievements
Scores use a ranked time derived from play time, mistakes, and hints. Game Center data is processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. Signing out of Game Center stops new submissions; existing leaderboard entries remain under Apple’s Game Center rules.
4. Purchases (StoreKit)
The full version is a one-time non-consumable In-App Purchase processed by Apple. Apple handles payment, receipts, Family Sharing, Ask to Buy, and restore.
The app reads the transaction result only to unlock paid features (unlimited puzzles, Expert and Master, unlimited hints, detailed statistics). It does not receive your full payment-card details.
To restore a purchase, use Restore Purchases in the app, or manage it in your Apple ID subscriptions and purchase history.
5. What we do not collect
The app does not:
- show ads or use an advertising identifier
- include analytics, crash-reporting, or attribution SDKs
- sell or share personal data with data brokers
- require an email, name, or password of its own
- access the camera, microphone, contacts, or location
The developer website dream-factory.app is separate from the app and may use its own cookies or analytics. This policy covers the Cube Sudoku app only.
6. Legal basis (EEA / UK / Switzerland)
Where GDPR or the Swiss FADP applies, processing is based on:
- contract / requested service — local gameplay, StoreKit unlock, optional iCloud sync and Game Center
- legitimate interests — running and supporting the app, answering support mail
You may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction, and you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For device-local data, deleting the app is the practical deletion path. For iCloud and Game Center, use Apple’s account controls as well.
7. Children
Cube Sudoku is a puzzle game suitable for a general audience. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Game Center and iCloud follow the Apple ID and parental-control settings on the device (including Ask to Buy).
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be reflected in the copy you host at the privacy URL used on the App Store product page.
